What a childish statement. Thanks for proving my point about you.

BTW - I'll get a chuckle about your statement as we are in the streets this weekend with the homeless - and while working at the Salvation Army service center. I'll let them know that you think I'm "heartless" and "uncaring". It will be good for a laugh

And you would think Reagan growing up during the great depression and often having an unemployed father in Illinois would have been a story of triumph. Instead those evil rich people are destroying us all. I can't wait to see the ideas from the "poor" on how to progress our country. We can worry about their personal lives afterwords.

Pope thought to add the 8th deadly sin being obscene wealth, but it was quashed rapidly. I guess they saw their own bank account and worried about the infallibility of the pope once the wax seal is kissed with the ring.

"Wonderful" humanitarian accomplishments? No, not at all

"Selfish"? Guilty. Because we want to. That's selfish.

You mean - 25 million a year, guaranteed, for two years is "over the top" in your opinion???

I do get pissed off when the sports teams try to shake down cities for subsidies when they're all making these outrageous salaries.

i agree !!!! just look at the kind of money alex rodriguez makes just to play with balls and bats 240 million for a 10 year contract.... you know this countries priorities are SCREWED up when a sport player makes more money than a brain sureon.. this country is kinda like when when you hit 50 years of age it's all down hill after that... well i will see all of you at the bottom..

Leftwingers have a 9-to-5 attitude. To them, you have to work for somebody else for a given wage. Leftwingers don't understand the concept of bringing in big money for somebody else and getting compensated accordingly.

Let's turn back the question. If a star player can generate an extra $100 million in fan revenue for a team, as, say Michael Jordan could, would he not be worth $50 million the team might pay him?

Same with a CEO. If he has the skills to bring in an extra $200 million, why wouldn't he be worth $100 million?

Keep in mind - Alex Rodriquez does not get all that money.

His agent gets between 25 to 33% of the contract amount.

Then their is the personal staff he has to pay

The marketing company

His lawyers

His accountants

Then, there are the income taxes he will owe

And a whole bunch of other people

He actually provides quite a few jobs with his contract.
