Why is it that the Left wants to Control so much? Shouldn't the title be "why is the right all about controlling"?

I'm still on a Democratic high though. Maybe when I'm older and both parties become intolerable to my sensitivities. I imagine it has to happen sooner or later.

Controlling what a woman can and can't do with her body, controlling who can and can't get married, controlling how many cures we can find for diseases because the Bible tells them that the access to those cures is immoral, trying to control our children so they wind up being creationist hillbillies, controlling "morality" through censorship, even controlling our Constitutional rights by taking some of them away with the Patriot Act. I'm sure there are more but those were off the top of my head. Maybe you should recognize how hypocritical it is for you to criticize Democrats for a "nanny-government" when the Republicans have been aiming for the true nanny-government since the religious right took over the party.
Your post in itself is hypocritical as you don't acknowledge the fact that the Left is controlling at all. I never said that there don't need to be some forms of control but when the Left choose to control what it can for the sake of power, then it becomes repression.
I think you also misunderstand about conservatives. We want to limit government so that they are not taking away our personal freedoms. We don't want people to infringe upon our religious freedoms. We want to teach our children how we want to teach them without the interference of the judges or the liberal thought police. We want the freedoms outlined in the Constitution. We want to be free from the oppression that is the current government which gets more and more left wing all the time.
Democrats know that most of America, throughout time, votes against them.
When given the chance to spend on social programs, Democrats don't waste any time.
President Pelosi and Obama will get to shoot their wads for 4 years. Then it will be time for American voters to reign them in. Centrists who believed in a fantasy of change, have now realized that they have been hoodwinked.
Don't allow Democrats to change your world. Stem cell research and cloning. Connecticut wants to control religion. Hmmm.
If people continue to vote for Democrats, they will get what they are asking for. A 70% tax rate, crappy health care, dictatorship, lesbian TV, and no fishing. PETA dislikes the family tradition of fishing, they are in the midst of a campaign where they are calling fish "sea kittens". They are trying to make fish seem more cuddly. They want kids to think of fish as kittens.
I suppose this is minor in the scheme of things, when it comes to the Democratic party.
But, watch out. Because they will take advantage of you.
