Abuse of power comes from employers, too, and without a union , workers have NO protection.

And : Unions are only as good as their members....if members don't get involved....like banking regulators didn't get involved, then bad things can happen.

Companies that treat their workers with respect, fairly, and reward them with good wages, don't have much to worry about from unions.
and what is considered a good wage? One that pushes a company into bankruptcy?
We all want more money with less work. Yet we also want the prices of goods and services to be lower so we can buy more.
You can't have it both ways. I think the legacy costs at GM alone are enough to scare me away from unions.

I also wonder just what unions you're talking about causing all that violence in farm country Ohio. You see it's my experience that the unions are usually weak in rural America while having their strength in the cities. So I was wondering if you could link to your local paper that tell of these atrocities.
Considering I have seen how union members conduct themselves during a strike, they are thugs, even if they sit next to you in church.
I was offered a travel contract in california in health care. Apparently the reg. workers were on strike because they didn't appreciate the wonderful working conditions they had (pretty much the best I had ever heard of in a hospital). The "strikebusters" had to be bused in and out of the hospital for their safety because of violence. But really, they are not thugs.

Let's not forget the role of unions in the auto industry, airline industry and steel industry.
You mean what remains of the auto, air and steel industries?
