Maybe like unlike those that signed the adjustable rate loans;she read the terms and didn't like the future cost to Alaska tax payers. Its not free money and will cost tax payers in those states alot of tax money in a few years.Read the fine porint is still good advice. Some staes have no choice because they have run up their credit cards and are grabbing at anyhting like a drowning man to stay afloat.

Businesses receive loans to weather tough times, and they succeed in the long run. Individuals receive loans for various reasons, and they succeed in the long run. The country can do the same.
A lot of this isn't loans. It's just spending for spending's sake (to presumably put some money in some people's pockets).
It doesn't matter. My point is that businesses and individuals need cash from time to time, and they go on to succeed. This refutes the claim that it "solves nothing in the long run." Whether the money is a loan, gift or jackpot winnings is irrelevant.

Some of it surely is. Much of it isn't. Either way, putting someone to work is better than the alternative. Somebody has to spend to keep the economy from crashing. Business and individuals haven't. That's where government steps in.
The governor is turning down $160 million for education, the Anchorage Daily News reports, along with $9 million for Health and Social Services, $7 million for Public Safety and $17 million in Department of Labor funding that would pay for things like unemployment services and vocational rehabilitation services -- that is, employment assistance for people with disabilities.

Maybe you should have voted for Gore or Kerry, then.
The misnamed "Patriot Act" which would have been better titled "1984 NOW!" stuck the government squarely up America's nose. It didn't bother those who listened to the fearmongering and had no brains that could be be compromised by the intrusion, but those who paid attention were more afraid of their government than they were the threat of terrorists.
Those who voted Bush are now reaping what they sowed.
