Newest Neocon Outfit Hosting Afghanistan Forum With Sen. McCain And Rep. Harman

Largely under the radar, some of the major neoconservative figures who fashioned the rationale for the Iraq war have set up a shop for shaping future trends in American foreign policy.

Excuse me but are the NeoCons the reason why we are hated throughout the world to begin with? Are they not the ones who pushed for war with Iraq?

Wake up. We are the United States, and we will be hated although we distribute funds and extend a helping hand all over the globe (and, yes, export ideology). Even if we melted down all of our guns and tanks and defused all of our bombs and missiles tomorrow, we would still be hated simply because of ideology. I do not deny that we make mistakes, but our enemies blow our mistakes out of proportion while overlooking our intent for good (are you guilty of this?).

This hatred is primarily because we are the main force for good in the world, the force that does not let evil extend its reach and spread to every corner.

Of course, you being liberal, do not believe in the existence of evil and that evil makes hay out of diplomacy when evil knows that you will not resort to force (please study history harder).

I've bolded something that stood out to me.

Do you really believe that statement, or are you dramatizing for effect?
We are the main force for good?

I admit we have some good people, and lots of money - but we look out for number 1 just like everyone else, perhaps more so. We aren't inherently a bastion of morality (obviously), despite what we'd all like to believe (that we are better than other nations).

I am referring to our principle of the world's peoples governing themselves and not being stymied by authoritarian regimes. This followed, and partially achieved, by free trade of goods as well as the free exchange of ideas between nations, which tends to bring the world toward a higher level of technology and higher level of prosperity. In contrast, authoritarian regimes shut out outside influences and ideas and tend to dry up prosperity and commercial exchange.

Only a cynic would say that these principles are not the hope for the world today. And I challenge anyone to name a more primary "bastion", or reservoir, of this good will.

Yea, those funds do a lot of good don't they? I mean look at all the millions we give the Suadi's each year and where did those 19 hijackers reign from, ooops Saudi Arabia.

This Harmon from Califorinia is one of the main Democratic culprits who cooperated and colluded with the Bush Administration's Neocon plans. Good thing she was passed over for a leadership position.

All joking aside, the distaste for authoritarian regimes should be the one thing that Democrats and Republicans (and Independents and Greens) should be able to agree on.
