Pour the tea and we sheep will lap it up.
I make less than 250k and I don't want a tax break.
I make more than 250k and I don't want to pay 10% less than I did under Reagan.
I don't know what's going on but Fox News told me to come.

Yeah, that is the funny part. Take out social security/medicare which are actually taxed separately a good 45% of the budget is spent on the military.

We're suppose to reduce spending while ignoring what 45% of the money is spent on.

If you want to reduce spending and hence taxes start with military spending. Lets cut it in half.

Don't thank me; I just copied it from the website. I see you're one of the Obama haters, eh?

I think it is hilarious that MSNBC, people on this forum, etc. have such a campaign going on to discredit, ridicule, etc. people who are in support of the tea parties.

WHAT are they afraid of?

They are afraid because thousands of previously quiet taxpayers have had enough?
They are afraid because these thousands are making their voices heard?

The core organizers in my area are Democrats, Republicans, and Independents of different religions, races, ages, etc.

Which BTW, Obama, like every President before him, is the mouthpiece/symbol/whatever for the Feds so for many he is the target. Personally, I don't think Obama will pay a bit of attention to the Tea Parties because I don't think he worries about being re-elected.

I want my message to get to the Senators and Congress. I think they will pay more attention because they are voting on the bills/budget/etc. (we don't have a dictator). I think they will be more concerned about getting re-elected. Trust me, many of We The People are watching how they vote on the budget/bills/etc.

Great places to see how your state reps are voting, the bills/ etc...

I also want to thank those who ridicule the Tea Parties for keeping these threads alive and at the top of the list of threads.

The Tea Parties Were Hijacked?: The Daily Dish | By Andrew Sullivan

"The concept started out as a relatively small idea organized by a handful of libertarian activists. Movement conservatives saw an opportunity to co-opt it - and they did.
***
"Of course, if the Tea Parties had remained the sole province of a handful of libertarian activists, they never would have received the national attention they’re now able to receive, and thus would have had even less impact. By accepting the involvement of the movement conservative multitudes, the originators have lost control of their message even as the message has access to an ever-larger platform. The result? An incoherent jumble of protests that is going to wind up resembling the same sort of incoherence that has characterized large-scale protests and demonstrations for decades."

It's funny you say that. Last year I was organizing for Ron Paul in the R primaries and FOX news went out of their way to discredit, ridicule, etc. people in the revolution.

They were afraid because tens of thousands of previously quiet taxpayers already had enough of the republican white house (while they wouldn't admit it)

They were afraid because thousands more people were making their voices heard during the primaries then are now at the teabag parties. Oh wait, that makes them look bad.

The Rs are trying desperately to grasp any straw they can. The teabaggers are the orchestrated effort to get the Ron Paul movement that they worked so hard to suppress last year into their camp.

Good luck trying to get the educated citizen into the party of disarray with a catchy slogan or weekend retreat. Maybe the Rs should instead regroup and understand the dissent from within (and without) that cost them this election.

Unfortunately, the party of NO has caused this rift, since I am also conservative. I voted for Obama and even knocked on doors before the Nov election, because I didn't want McCain & Palin in the White House, especially Palin. For most Republicans, it's that old saying "my way or the highway." Look at how they criticized Obama while Captain Phillips was held hostage, yet his rescue was quick and successful. That's because Obama believes in using logic, reason and careful planning before making decisions. It obviously works! So now where is all the praise? When people on the news are actually criticizing the family dog, it says volumes.

However, you are right that not everyone who wants to change the government & protest is anti-Obama. However, it certainly seems that way.

Have you even READ any of the last stimulus package and the estimated costs????? Even if your 45% figure were true, it's nothing compared with the trillions that have been committed to non-military government programs.

And BTW, the military is being cut back dangerously. Talk to anyone in the armed forces about budget cuts, mandatory retirements, base closures, etc.
