I think for the same reason people o the right don't' like CNN and even the liberal type coverage of the big three networks for so many years, I think aht all news agencies are biased by the people that run them but this is human.A liberal editor hires liberal columnist and prints liberals stories and vice-versa.We have always had things like yellow journalism and news controlled by different groups if you look at its history.Only the rue believers types actaully just watch one type news program in these days but always remmebre that ews is given by humans with falws and prejudices.
It seems all the libs say that FOX news "lies"...please provide some examples..thank
I personally hate Fox News not because I'm a liberal (I'm a libertarian, I dislike the Democrats as much as the Republicans, they're both idiots and they both got us into this mess) but because it's utter trash. I've never seen such a lack of professionalism on a news program, not even on local news. They interrupt, they laugh about the stories they are reporting and they blatantly express their political leanings when they report. They also have a lack of original news and are basically a tabloid. Even the oversaturation of graphics and colors shows how little they care about the news and how much they care about appealing to the lowest common denominator.
I hate Fox News because it contributes to ignorance and idiocy in this country. They've admitted to pushing a specific agenda (talking points and the like) and that is NOT News. That is entertainment, thus why it is called "Faux News" by people who realize how pathetic it is. But regardless of your political affiliation, if you actually sit down and try to watch Fox News objectively, you will always see the same thing over and over again without any insight or intelligent thought. CNN and MSNBC aren't much better, but at least they don't try to say that they are "Fair and Balanced" when they are OBVIOUSLY the Right's "news" haven.
If you can't see it already, nothing will convince you, ever. I can tell you, however, that its success is based on the infotainment value, and polarization of the populace, swinging so far to the right with contemporary "conservative" ideas that any media outlet that dares to provide balance is dubbed by Fox sheeple as being biased to the left (NPR is one such victim).
Fox represents pseudojournalism at its best. Rupert Murdoch has created this empire by playing with the emotions of the vulnerable, and Fox is one such tool for him, here in America. It thrives on half truths, and twists a legitimate news item enough to keep its base glued, even as facts and realities are lost.
When they do talk about issues, they often divert from real causes to something else. When gas prices spiked up, "clean air standards" was to be blamed for it. But when, there's a segment of populace that will listen much less propagate that rhetoric, no question asked, why not? Its getting the job done for the media mogul, and the political bent of the CEO (Ailes, who has served in every republican administration beginning with Nixon).
Then there is the fascination of name calling. "Patriot", "American", "Junk Science", "Socialism", "Marxist"... its almost like pages taken out of Atwater-Rove school of thought. Same guys? Your view may differ.
Fox news is fine. It's the commentators I can't stand: O'Reilly, Beck and Hannity. I've actually learned to appreciate Geraldo Rivera against the backdrop of those hateful and whiny nutcases.
