I have met many so-called Generation Y (I hate the title but I'll use it for now) young adults and I will say that a good number have impressed me. Of course, some that I have met were lame. Overall, I think they are all right.

~Mike (from the generation one letter before Y who hopes that when he is old enough to be considered a cranky old man - Daaaarnnn kids!! - he won't actually be one ...)

Really? Where can I apply for this job? And can you please tell me how I am less than human? Thanks!

Ok. Repubocrat. You tell me something. You seem to make fun of them still living at home with parents at the age of 23 or 24. I understand you expect to get out and have their own place at this time but how?

Like I have said many times, college expenses and car insurance, gas, rent, food utilities...and more...you expect me to pay it all on 7.40 an hour? Thats 296 a week. Then take out taxes...and you know the rest. Seriously. Tell me how that is freakin possible.

Oh please. There are some people who think like that, I admit it. But not all of us. Seriously, you have some problems. You think that everyone in my generation thinks like this? Of course not! I know it is not possible and it takes time. And what is wrong with having big plans while living with your parents?

Thats how dreams and business begin.

Come back and tell me why it is funny that these people still reply on their parents. Grow up. Maybe it was possible back in your day. But not now. Unless you want these people on welfare and want to support them. With this economy and the crappy paying jobs that make the rich richer and the poor poorer, you cannot expect people to just get up and leave unless you want more foreclosed homes and can complain about another economic crisis.

I think you have a brain. You dont it very often. Go cry socialism.

The word "entrepreneur" is not synonymous with corrupted. In fact there will be more incentives if this nation resumes the rule of law and oversight for government and corporations that are "to big to fail." With Obama at the helm, we will be more focused on industries that will finally bring us into the 21st century. Generation Y has been burdened with the debt never before bestowed upon any other generation. Reagan set the wheels in motion and Bush placed it on steroids. Do you have any idea the opportuites that are out there for "Green Industry?" From what I am hearing and reading that is the only industry right now that have people that are optimistic about what the future has in store. Why do you have such a bleak outlook?

I'm going to have to agree with Theliberalvoice on this one. I'm a 19 year old college student living with her parents. So please, enlighten me on how the heck am I supposed to get a job when nobody is hiring and even if they were, it would have to be a minimum-wage job. A minimum wage job CANNOT pay for $900 + a month (which is how much apartments go for around here) and I do not have a car. Not to mention food and school supplies. Of course, financial aid covers some of it, but only to a certain extent. I live in Connecticut and we have one of the highest taxes in the country. So some, if not most of my paycheck will be directed towards taxes. Unless of course, you want me to live off of welfare and live off the backs of you and other taxpayers.

Same goes for my friend, and she's 23. Seriously, put yourself in our position and consider the facts before making such rash judgments. Nobody takes you seriously in the job market unless you have graduated college and/or 25 years old.

So please, before you spill your arrogance on these threads, consider the facts. You are most likely older than I am AND have a job, so I figure that it must be easy for you to make a board like this one.

It's easier to say to somebody "go find a job" when you yourself have a job.

Come on Irish and Repubocrat, tell me. What am I supposed to do? You both come here and scream your garbage but when people ask you questions that show you are ignorant, you just dont reply.

Smallville, I also live at home with mom and dad. I go to college full time. I work two jobs that pay below 8 an hour. Most of them purposely do not give 40 hours so that they do not have to give me health benefits. I have an online business going on in addition to that. Yesterday, I met a lady who has a job opening for an internship. This internship has to do with my career. So how am I lazy and a bun warmer?

Also, How am I supposed to pay it off? How are WE going to pay it off, smallville?

Great post and thank you. Don't be ashamed of what you are. I am not. I know I am doing more. I work, I pay my taxes, I am going to school. So are you.

What on earth is this supposed to mean?

You do realize that corporations are as overstuffed with bureaucrats as the government?

If everyone had the "entrepreneurial spirit," where would corporations find workers to create profit for the shareholders? Do you hate capitalism?
