Let me know when you're going to call for a ban on automobiles.
Autos have a value in society (getting folks from point A to point B) and the benefits outweights the risks. How is society benefitting from cigarette smoking?

When waiting at a bus stop or walking down the street. Unless I can hold my breath or move away from the smoker, I am forced to breathe in the fumes.

take away tobacco use, and conservatives and liberals will not have billions to spend on their pet socialist projects.

At $7 a pack maybe some of the stupid ignorant self haters will think twice before starting their addiction and poisoning everybody else's air and littering the landscape with their butts. Hopefully we will see less of them now. Hopefully.

Hey smoking Nazis! Legislate THIS Oops! Sorry, wrong finger.
I am personally against cell phone usage while driving (that includes texting as well). I also believe that pre-marital sex is harmful and should be avoided. What was your point again?

I am quite sure that, even with the new taxes, the drug addicts cost us more in taxes than they pay. When they get sick and they are laying there with oxygen in their noses throwing up green stuff because if the chemo, we have to pay. So if more of them quit, medicaid, medicare and health insurance expenses should go down by quite a bit.

Our government should not be profitting from cigarette smoking ... Our government should be banning the substance. If the government loses billions as a result of a cigarette ban, then the government should be tightening their budgets like the rest of us do when money is low.

They'll have to find something else to tax; once the government gets an income stream they don't easily let go.

I'd venture alcohol (beer, wine, hard liquer) will be next. It's bad for your liver and causes car accidents and kills people.
$20 for a 6-pack anyone ?

I have no issues with a higher tax on alcohol consumption. What benefits do alcohol have on society. All alcohol does is causes vehicle accidents and make folks act like idiots.
