Sarkozy embraces Obama as ally

STRASBOURG, France — French President Nicolas Sarkozy warmly welcomed his new American counterpart Friday, telling Barack Obama that he’d help him shut down Guantanamo Bay prison by taking a terror detainee onto French soil.

The detention facility, Sarkozy said, “was not in keeping with U.S. values.”

Doing an end-around United Nations' sanctions to build a cozy relationship with Saddam Hussein is "not keeping with U.S. values" either. But that surely didn't stop France, who still has pre-war construction cranes still standing in Baghdad to this day. Gotta love hypocrisy.

It was an illegal war! Why do you think nobody supported us in Iraq. You remember Bush mentioning the Coalition of the Willing? The "Willing" being comprised of a few third world countries, it was pathetic.

Don't kid yourself, dude, Sarko is facing immense unpopularity at home owing to his natural friendship with GW.

Like any other politician he is patching up, and he wants to be re-elected.

That, my friend, is where you are wrong. I was there. Saw it. Know who I worked side by side with. We don't need your pathetic assumptions to help convince us of your liberal absurdity.

In the meantime, i'll be sure to tell my new "third world" Australian, British, and Japanese friends that Dukester says hello.

Wow. One whole detainee. Thank you France for the insurmountable sacrifice!
