'Director of National Intelligence Dennis C. Blair, acknowledged there will be privacy concerns about centralizing cybersecurity, and he said the program should be designed in a way that gives Americans confidence that it is "not being used to gather private information'.
Now there's an understatement!
It is an understatement. A law is already in place that allows govt to get info from ISPs on your internet usage and you cannot sue ISPs - thanks to the Bush governent. Then, Ds were against such laws but I guess now it is OK for Obama to get more cyber-power. Rs supported the passage of the bill that protected ISP's right of encroachment but now they are all against more power for Obama.
Which industry is in favor of these provisions? This grants control of the internet over to governments and corporations, which seems to be in direct conflict of net neutrality. What kind of disaster would facilitate shutting down or taking control of the internet?
I'm not defending the bill. Perhaps I should have said some in the industry (instead of the industry) are not as opposed to all parts as one would expect. Do believe all are outraged over the Pres being able to take control of entire internet.

I'm sure you have heard of the Tax Day Tea Parties scheduled for April 15 throughout the country. The website Tax Day Tea Party lists where, etc. It was offline for a day or so. Below is the reason - they experienced a DOS attack. The following was on their website but as they post more older articles get "pushed" off the page (deleted perhaps?) and I can't find it now. But this is what had been copied directly from their page.

The legislation also calls for the government to have the authority to demand security data from private networks without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule or policy restricting such access.

Do you think he wants to be a dictator or do you think there is a group (the Feds, a group of rich people, a special interest group, etc?)
We don't live in a dictatorship so I have a hard time believing 1 person alone can orchestrate all that is happening such as the proposed internet bill and the G20 Financial Stability Board agreement which will give the group indirect power over our financial institutions, exec pay, etc.
I so hate to look like I shop at The TinFoil Shoppe but add up lots of little things added rather inconspiciously to bills that sound beneficial on the surface and it's troubling.

Yes, quite the paradox isnt it? Seems as though it's all a big shell game to keep the general public divided, along party lines, bickering amongst themselves over who's better, R's or D's. All the while the main agenda moves forward while the children are pre occupied with the various "crises" that seem to arise every couple days......
A North Korean missile launch that we can bellow about for a week or so, ought to take everyone's attention off the sell out that occured at the G20 this week. And lay the groundwork for the next round of civil rights violations to come in the near future.....The Hegelian Dialectic at full throttle here folks.
