My observation is that Conservatives are more likely to BELIEVE power-sourced AUTHORITY than to incline toward un-belief type facts.

Did the Trade Centers come down by Intelligent Design?

Science is science. But one side studies science from a Christian perspective (or world view), the other from a atheist perspective, which is just as much a "religion" of faith. One has faith in God, the other has faith in the absense of God.
