Reminds me of another vehicle that they were planning to build. By time they added the safety requirements, regulator requirements, and then made it useful for everyday americans... It looked like this.
this is a prototype and will not be available for a few years, but GM only has 2 months to be saved so even if it hit the market today, it would not help them at all.
Interesting concept, I don't know how practical they can make it, but it seems like a decent start:
General Motors and Segway have teamed up on Project PUMA (Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility), a two-wheeled city vehicle capable of reaching speeds up to 35 miles per hour, and going 35 miles on a single charge at a cost of 35 cents per charge.
So, they are projecting a penny per mile, a lot cheaper than gas. If they can find a way to use this in dense urban areas, especially for things such as short commutes to public transportation, perhaps this could be the beginning of a decent alternative transportation option.

You think this is a good thing? Our tax dollars are being flushed down the toilet of idiotic crap like this. I guess you don't care. What is your address?? I'll come rob you like the government is.
