A coalition of liberal groups are waging a broad national campaign to build pressure on conservative Democrats and centrist Republicans who may not support President Obama’s vision for healthcare reform.
The coalition, Health Care for America Now (HCAN), which includes groups such as ACORN, the AFL-CIO, Campaign for America’s Future and MoveOn.org, has not begun to target individual lawmakers but is making a loud call for a potentially controversial element of Obama’s reform plan.
This article is two years-old; the need for UHC has only increased. People understand that other major industrialized countries are doing quite well
with cradle-to-grave health care; none of them have become socialist.
It's about time that this country became more progressive! John Podesta, who created the think tank The Center for American Progress, has a new book out: The Power of Progress: How America's Progressives Can (Once
Again) Save Our Economy, Our Climate, and Our Country. If any of the once-loyal opposition read books, this might be a great start.
