Ok.... anyone ever look at satellite photos from 1979 (http://www.iaapindia.org/img/arctic_Ice1979.jpg - broken link)and compare it to recent photos from 2005 (http://www.wbgu.de/Images/sn_2006_de/2_1-3b.jpg - broken link)... or read a scientific articel on the subject of the Arctic Ice Shelf (http://www.iarc.uaf.edu/highlights/2004/satellite_monitoring_arctic_ice_cap.php - broken link) ?
If these pictures don't prove that some kind of global change is occurring... that we are in serious trouble as a speices... believing the likes of right-wing shills like Rush Limbaugh or Michael Savage or Republican Congressman James Inhof and you find yourself not seeing the reality of it all...
My data of April 2009 so it is pretty current coming from NASA yours is suspect as I don't recognize the website and it could be backed by the GOP and in the website you provided their data was listed in February 2009?
Now let's tell everyone the truth. Arctic Ice has increased over the past couple years because average global temperatures have decreased.
Global warming is a hoax. Melting polar ice caps is a fraud. Stranded polar bears is a fairy tale, and carbon credits will be the biggest scam ever pulled off in the history of human dishonesty.
Was watching a program on the History Channel from 2002 called "Modern Marvels", in it they profiled "Ice Breakers", ships that broke thru the arctic sea ice.
In this 2002 show, they had a commercial break and right before it they mentioned this: "The U.S. Navy reported in 2002 that all the summer arctic sea ice can likely disappear by 2050"
Sadly, that report is no longer accurate. All the summer arctic sea ice is now predicted to be gone less than a decade from now.
George Will never had any credibility on climate change to begin with. The fact that he continues to disseminate misinformation is merely a reflection of his own state of denial.

Instead of posting the same old data from years ago (the last time it was warm) why don't you put up some recent data, photos, whatever. You make yourselves look desperate to maintain the illusion of a crisis when it is obvious to everyone even slightly more intelligent than a tree squirrel that the only crisis we are experiencing is the one that comes when we start taxing carbon to pay for social programs we don't need and don't want.

no, we want to pay trillions of dollars in carbon credits so Obama can fund his gov't. You can't do that if global warming stops, therefore, now we have global climate change caused by the evil right wing!!!

Not that I'm disputing them but those aren't "photos", they are computer generated models based on data.
Here's the issue with basing any assumptions on such data, let's compare it to data collected in 1900? How about 2000 years ago? As already mentioned the level of sea ice in the arctic has always fluctuated. As our knowledge evolves we need to be careful we're not creating an issue where none exists simply because other data has not been discovered yet or doesn't exist.
I'm sure a lot of people here are of the younger generation but I can remember as a kid back in the late 70's or early 80's there was big scare about butter.... "Butter is bad for you" blah, blah, blah,... so everyone switched to using margarine. 10 or 15 years later the new scare was margarine... Just one small example of where science has been imperfect simply because other data wasn't discovered yet.
FYI the link provided in the second or third post is accurate. I'm not going to look it up but there's a press release on the site that provides that data.
