It's time to (Tea) Party!

I can't be there because of other obligations, but i'm certainly there in spirit!

God Bless the USA!

Reasons why the teabaggers are wrong:

1. The original Tea Party participants were throwing valuable goods into the bay. They'd rather lose them than pay the taxes to England. What valuable thing are the teabaggers risking?

2. You are represented.

3. You are getting a tax cut from Obama. The people who organized these parties are seeking tax cuts for rich people. That's who you're working for - even though you don't admit it.

It's morphed into an Anti-Obama fest... the original folks are not even involved anymore... there is no coherence to this movement.

Stop spending trillions of dollars on a more invasive government.

Seems pretty focused to me.

When all else fails, marginalize, marginalize, marginalize.

They did it with Palin - effectively. It worked so well there, they've decided that they'll just use the same tactic any time they disagree with something.

I hate to break it to you guys, but the tea party movement isn't a left vs. right thing. I know that you really, really want it to be, but it's not.

Naturally, there are those on the right who are latching onto it as a vehicle to promote an anti-Obama agenda, and you will, of course, (dishonestly) attempt to portray these bozos as being representative of the entire movement, but the movement itself is about the out of control spending that our government has been doing, the extremely poor job that Congress has been doing (as evidenced by the low congressional approval ratings), the bailouts, tax increases, etc.

As for taxes, the current Congress authored and President Obama signed into law the two largest tax increases in U.S. history, both of which disproportionately affect people with low incomes. You can dance all you want with your paystub held high above your head, but you've been duped, and I think you know it. You know that the $10 or $20 more you see in your paycheck is going to end up back in the government coffers via some other tax, but you don't care; not as long as you get to point to your pay stub and call conservatives names.

Just remember, when your electricity cost doubles or triples after the Cap & Trade program gets implemented, I don't want to hear a single word about how the energy companies are just "greedy corporations". That's the stealth tax that the President you voted for gave you, in fact he promised it to you, and you cheered him right into office for doing it. So not a word, ok?

Now before hitting that quote button and attempting to blast me for what I've written, try to take off the blinders and really THINK about just how much money the current administration has already spent. Every time Obama is criticized for not having done much, you're quick to bring up that he's "only been in office for X days." Think about that. As you gleefully point out, he's barely been President for a few months, and he's already spent more money - your money, my money, our kids' money, their kids' money - than every single President that came before him, combined!

That is what the tea party movement is about.

1. The risk would be the country's future. Perhaps you should read up on the projected national debt sometime. It may surprise your liberal brain into reality.

2. Would the teabaggers in DC, which are currently protesting on the steps of the Treasury Department, agree with you?

3. Explain the tax cut you're referring to. The one that expires in two years or the one that was nixed from the budget by congress?

WASHINGTON, DC – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today challenged President Obama’s apparent decision to allow the Democratic-controlled Congress to dump his long-promised middle-class tax cut from the FY 2010 budget.

What is the point of a tax cut when he turns around and increases taxes on us also?

How about keeping the couple dollar tax cut and dont raise my taxes on all the things he is
