Reading about the little girl who was raped, killed, and stuffed in a suitcase got me thinking about this. Are you for or against? Does it depend on the crime?

I'm against it. The government should not have the right to kill anyone.

For it when all shadow of doubt is gone. They should especially be executed for crimes against children.

I'm against it because the justice system is not just. Innocent people are convicted of crimes and money pays a big role in the justice process.

I support it. Since we are into multiculturalism nowadays, we should do what other countries do. If you steal, we chop of your hands. If you kill, we hang you. If you rape someone, we stone you to death.

I'm not sure what my position is on the death penalty. I think, if pushed, I would say that I prefer solitary confinement with no chance of parole. Somehow I think that would be a bigger punishment.

"Convicted" killers should get the death penalty.

Against.

I do believe that many criminals *deserve* the death penalty, but I don't believe that we administer justice properly in many death penalty cases, in part due to the fact that so many prosecutors and judges are elected. It imparts a bias to the conduct of their jobs, and an incentive to appear tough on crime. Some have also demonstrated that it provides an incentive to prosecutorial misconduct.
