If ratified and the U.S. is found not to be in compliance with any provisions of the treaty -- such as a provision that would outlaw reloading ammunition without a government license -- President Obama would be empowered to implement regulations without Congressional approval.
The whole problem with that is some of us collect guns. Many of my assault weapons have never been fired (never will be) and they are some of the most valuable guns in my collection. You may be a gun owner but you sure as heck aren't a collector. Not all of us own guns to kill other people.
If you're a collector and the most valuable guns in your collection would be up for being banned I would think you would support it. It would make them even more valuable. Things that are illegal or banned are usually pretty valuable. Even if they are banned, its not like they are going to be going house to house to take what you have. You will be able to keep them.
I'm not saying I am for or against a ban just giving you something to think about.

Who would you trust?
Probably The Brady Bunch.
