ELO, Did you catch my post (#256 in this thread)? Makes sense when you realize MSNBC is owned by GE and GE has a huge investment in seeing some of Obama's policies come to be. They wanted to make the US citizens who were voicing their concerns look like racists, idiots, etc. so others would not take the issues seriously.

Turns out - perhaps there may be more than meets the eye.

MSNBC of course is an NBC station.
GE owns NBC.
(Keep in mind there are different divisions of GE.)
GE got a $139 billion bailout in November, there is talk that they may be needing more.
GE has invested and relied on their green products divison for profit - profits have been down, they do not expect to reach their target of $25 billion, but do expect things to improve due to the stimulus bill.
GE has invested a lot of money lobbying govt for the Cap and Trade.
GE has a joint venture called Greenhouse Gas Services, which is to invest and trade in greenhouse gas credits generated by the Cap and Trade bill.

Hmm, certainly raises an interesting perspective on WHY MSNBC would launch such an assult to discredit those who attended the Tea Parties to voice their opposition to govt spending.
CHAPTER 1 The Smear
No outrage from you over garafalo getting 'attacked' on the basis of genitalia by those same honest wholesome disgruntled taxpayers? that benchmark in mind, laughing audibly/ smirking= MSNBC 'assaulting' or launching a venomous attack? Your right to free speech was respected because nobody stopped you, but free speech shouldn't include the inconvenient wholesome, honest american taxpaying majority? That's right, the majority is liberal, I keep forgetting O'Reilly repeating that fact. Americans OK With Short-Term Government Growth Garafalo wasn't endorsed, she was allowed to speak uninterrupted. Why is that a foriegn concept? Right wing flying off the handle from a comedians opinion is pretty desperate. Too bad they missed her left wing conspiracy confession. It was downright hillarious when she got around to hinting about her super powers. Hysteria being absent over a comedian, I might have missed the whole thing. Had to get by on the transcript.

CHAPTER 2 Deflect Your Own Mission Statement By Accusing Others Of Your Own Actions.
The vast left wing conspiracy theory you're referencing- is that where GE gets to brainwash americans by using Olberman or Maddow as lakeys to repetitiously hock clean coal technology??Technology - Energy - Clean Coal Energy Fess up. You don't want an honest answer as to why GE would want cap and trade. You only know you don't want cap and trade, so you'll only look for information that supports your pre programed talking points provided by...Murdoch.
Media Research Center - SourceWatch
Wall Street Journal - SourceWatch
News Corporation - SourceWatch.

CHAPTER 3 Ignore Contrary Evidence Vehemently. Deny, Deny, Deny.
Conspiratory Media blackout...
13NOV2008. http://www.fool.com/investing/genera...lout-cash.aspx The division awarded the money in the larger bailout of all financial institutions was GE capital.
Quote:
In the meantime, the company's industrial units seem to be doing reasonably well. Because the company makes all manner of daunting, impressive, and expensive medical diagnostic devices, GE is making plans with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to open at least 25 cancer clinics in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East during the next decade. The future for the company's energy infrastructure unit is harder to pin down, given the recent steep slide in oil and gas commodities.
So much for the trillions recooped on green technology investments.

27FEB2009 Unlike FOX who couldn't possibly speak unfavorably about their own boss, CNBC identified their own parent company at the begining, and made criticism in their business report programing. http://dailybail.com/home/2009/2/27/...cnbc-vide.html

18FEB2009, the 'liberal rag' huffington post tattle taled on GE Bonuses, not sparing full history of previous years or affiliated $$...
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/0..._n_167891.html[color="red"]

Quote:
GE said in December that it will shrink the size of GE Capital, which provides loans ranging from home mortgages overseas to financing for large energy projects. The company plans to reduce GE Capital's reliance on risky debt and cut its work force during the restructuring. GE has injected its own money into GE Capital, taken part in federal programs designed to ease credit markets, and raised $15 billion from Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway and other investors through stock sales.
Meanwhile, GE forecasts income growth ranging from flat to just five percent in its industrial units that make jet engines, power plant turbines, light bulbs and other products.
By your reckoning greenie CFL's killed GE & caused a worldwide meltdown. Would that be the same vast left wing conspiracy, or a whole other new vast left & middle wing conspiracy? Right wing conservatives want no part of CFL's, the 20+% of them that voted for Obama are now liberals, while the 15% of liberals who voted McCain are finally sane? Since the lionshare of your documentation about taxation is leaning on CDO references to GDP ratio, why on earth would you think it wise to reduce Gross Domestic PRODUCT by railing at a company that actually produces tangible necessities (as opposed to artificial wealth schemes hatched in AIG that beat the hell out of GE capital in the first place--Industrial division bailed out capital division.)??? Of all the anti trust situations going on, why is this one particular 'too big to fail' the first one belonging on the chop shop list at the behest of Murdoch?

Here's your chance to squash clean coal, a very costly privately funded R & D venture that's been dogged by political infighting for decades, once and for all. Yep, let's expand the rustbelt to the rest of america until it all looks like Cleveland because misery loves company and America failing is a feather in the cap. Next time don't aim for your foot when you shoot. Try having the decency not to aim it at miners with the justification you're defending them either. http://www.wvgov.org/sec.aspx?id=32&articleid=1436

She is a bitter comedian whose star never shined as brightly as her peers. She was never that funny and dresses like an un-made bed. Who really takes this slob seriously?

this woman is very typical of a lot of liberal women. angry, ugly, and unable to think rationally. liberal men like keith olbermann and rachel madcow are the same way. if people don't agree, they instantly throw out the race card. pathetic.

thefinalsay-- it's already been said before... if it was entirely absent at that protest there would be no merit to the argument whatsoever. The problem was that the evidence exists.
The other problem is when you try to ask someone to get in a logical discussion about it, it becomes a regurgitation of fox news who sponsored the bloody thing in the first place. It's not as if I haven't been asking people, but there you go again fixated on liberals. That's where your own stuff negates any real cause.
