We signed it. It restricted OUR actions. Does our word mean anything?

So we can just go back on our word now, just because?

We signed it because we are above that.

Must have missed that when I signed up at the old liberal party headquarters.

You see, liberals don't come off assembly lines, all identical, all from the same stamp. Just like conservatives have a wide range of opinions and perspectives. And unless Chavez was present at one of those waterboarding sessions, he's not relevant to this topic. He is off-topic. But you can start another thread asking liberals how they feel about him. You'll probably get a range of responses, because there's no liberal handbook that we all quote the same opinion out of.
That's a fair point. I'd argue it's relevance, but a new thread is the best idea. My apologies. Look forward to your input on the thread.

Like when you argue that it's okay to torture people in certain circumstances.

That's selective morality!
Never said that did I? Actually it comes down to what is considered torture... Loud music, cold, bland food or some water in the face? I think not. Were any bones broken? Nope. Was any permanent damage done? Nope. Was there a need for doctors services due to the questioning? Nope. Uncomfortable to be sure but torture? Nope.
But I'm sure the wailing minority thinks that anything but prime steak and a recliner for terrorists is abuse...
Let 'em kill a few of your close family members and I'd bet your tune would change most ricky tick!

You think waterboarding is just "some water on the face"? It TORTURE and has been defined as such in the past.

I said it before and I'll say it again.

I lost loved ones on 9/11.

They would be disgusted that this is being done in their names... so no, IT DIDN'T CHANGE MY TUNE.

DON'T USE THEIR DEATHS AS AN EXCUSE TO STOOP TO THE LEVEL OF THE TERRORISTS.

Ricky tick??????

Simulated drowning. Suffocation. Water in the face???? LOL

Why is waterboarding such a sensitive topic that the DOJ has to weigh in on whether it's torture or not? They felt compelled to set parameters. The military exceeded those parameters. When the interrogators went past the parameters the DOJ set, did they in fact become torturers. Or were the parameters set by the DOJ meaningless?

You've got to be KIDDING ME if you think for a second I'm going to put something that personally identifying on a message board.

That is not "with all due respect". Come down here to NY and start questioning people for the names of who they lost "with all due respect" and see how far you get.

I got to run for my life that day, were you perhaps in one of those aforementioned "comfy recliners"???

Why would you ask such an insensitive question?

What would be your point? To use those names later to bolster your arguments?
