Yeah, I applaud her for speaking her mind. That doesn't make her a hero, though. Indeed, anyone who supports denying rights to people is no hero in my book. With regard to rights, it's those who fight for their expansion that I consider to be heroes: MLK, Ghandi, Susan B. Anthony, et. al.

Why would anyone consider someone a hero who supports limiting basic rights to certain individuals based on their sexual preference?

Because she is a hero FOR SAYING WHAT SHE BELIVES IN and not kowtowing to the gay lobby. Thats why.

Saying what she believes in makes her honest, not a hero.

She's a hero because she gave her opinion that she's against gay marriage? I think you need to get a dictionary of what a hero is. Give me a break.

Default Why is Perez Hilton a celebrity?

Here are some of my theories:
He's knows how to get attention, even if he's totally obnoxious

He writes about celebrities, and a lot of people love celebrity gossip

He's someone that people love to hate

A lot of people enjoy seeing gay guys as freaks and clowns for entertainment (similar to why Richard Simmons became famous)

I'm gay, and I cringe whenever I see Perez Hilton. I try to not even watch him. I hate the idea that he might represent gay guys in some way, but unfortunately, I think the reality is that he does.

Other opinions?

This is America where any child can aspire to be a non-productive parasite otherwise known as a celebrity.
