Homeschooling Sees Dramatic Rise in Popularity
Yeah, but you can't protect your children from life forever and most of the kids i've met that are home-schooled have very little social skills.

The school was wrong. No exceptions.

" Redding was strip-searched by school officials after a fellow student accused her of providing prescription-strength ibuprofen pills. "

Was this the only reason? Students often play pranks on other students. Strip searching is very extreme. They found nothing in her belongings and should have stopped at that point.

I don't get it anyway. Tylenol is an over-the-counter medication. "Prescription strength" means nothing. I've been prescribed Ibuprofen, for example. It's the same as taking 3 or 4 200mg Advil.

"13 year old Conservative girls" huh?

Yep, this thread's credibility went out the window with it's title.

Perhaps we should also ask if the liberal janitor can protest his conservative mop-makers right to make mops, while we're at it?

Politicizing a sensitive, and very personal, subject is surely not the path you intended? Right? Please say it ain't so.

Really? The home schooled kids I know have good social skills. Becareful of the propoganda machine it would have you believe lies.
The fact that this school felt it was okay to strip search a minor is bad enough to make anyone question sending their child to such a system.

I know you can.

Not sure where you think the hypocracy comes in at?

Why would you paint the 13 year old as a conservative?

What makes you think conservatives would support the school? Your own argument supports a right to privacy, what conservatives stand for, or are you trying to make an argument that the school was right for making someone strip, let alone a child, without their parents consent..

Not sure why this would be the case, unless these kids are ALREADY in an unsocialized and poorly skilled environment. Also am skeptical of the "socialization" they would get in today's permissive and dangerous "educational" institutions. Pick your poison.

Schools dont allow over the counter medication because its legally a "drug", just like they can and do suspend someone for simply drawing a picture of a gun.

Yup. Zero tolerance = zero intelligence, IMO.

I am very glad I am not in school! Some ill trained person took their "security" job way too literally. I agree with bringing a lawsuit. Calling for a strip search on a suspicion is way over the line. This is an example of a NO DRUGS policy taken to its logical extreme.

If they strip searched me, heck, if they stopped at the pockets, while I was in high school, they would certainly have found a jack knife, a cigarette lighter and a pack of Camels. If they checked the book bag and/or locker they probably, in season anyway, would have found my "proto super soaker" water guns.

I cannot stand this whole "big brother" environment that we are living in..
But considering some of Obama's appointees, like the scumbag who defended the porn industry,
she might get strip searched again when she gets to court....

Also - this is one more good reason to keep my kids out of the public school system...
And I'm not "getting the connection between" the bolded sentences.

You disapprove of big brother, but we need big brother to protect us from porn?
