Gambling concerns have been something that is bi-partisan.

If some one is gambling online and losing their shirt, that is their problem, they can always stop click on the web site.

So now you are equating saving money with gambling away money?

Good grief...

What do you mean even Paul Krugman? He is so far left he doesn't think the stimulus is big enough. He is a partisan hack with zero credibility.

Bernie Madoff was involved in fraud. Even the most ardent libertarian would agree that fraud requires swift and powerful justice.

The only reason you have a 401-k at all is because Congress gave it to you. Why? To give you a tax-deferred hand up (i.e., welfare) in trying to save enough to support yourselves in retirement given that SS was never intended to do that alone and corporate pensions were being either pilfered or eliminated by the greedy, profit-seeking capitalist b*st*rds who ran them. What Congress giveth, Congress may taketh away. Right-wing whining doesn't come into play at all...

Bull.

Barney Frank had no control over any committee in 2004.
There are no degrees of exaggeration, you can't over exaggerate.

Look Barney Frank was dating the head of Freddie he said over an over again it was sound and not in any trouble. Forgive me if I do not wish him to control my finances. I can take care of myself just fine.

Frank couldn't discover an escort service run out of his basement, it doesn't surprise me he couldn't see the problems with freddie and Fannie.

Uh the government doesn't give us anything. We are not their subjects that they dole out goodies to, although some want to give them that power.

The government should not help people that don't want to use their brains. I had over $50,000 saved for retirement before I could even legally drink alcohol. All my friends that blew their money on new cars, vacations, luxury items, trips to the bar, and everything else they don't need are broke. We need to educate people in how to invest in solid investments that guarantee a return. None of my teachers in the public education system has ever tought students about investing and saving. I had to learn about saving and investing from friends and family when I was a child. A class or two on saving and investing should be mandatory for all students in the American public education system.

A lot of good it did you! What happened to the individual responsibility of the store owner? He's the one who decided to put linoleum in the entry. He's the one who decided to polish and buff it every day. Did he expect that it was never going to rain outside again? Didn't he know that people would inevitably slip and fall on wet linoleum? Did he go so far as to maybe get some rubber mats that employees could roll out to protect people when it started raining? Doesn't sound like it. Sounds like the creep cut costs by deliberately creating an environment where personal injury was not just likely, but foreseeably inevitable. There are serious laws against that sort of callous disregard for public safety...AS THERE SHOULD BE...
