I said, theoretically. And the World Health Organization has NOT recommended that the border between the US and Mexico be closed.
Who said the WHO is on our side? It sounds like some here are trusting their "authority". I don't! I don't trust any health organization. Few people realize the AMA was created to protect the business interests of medical professionals, not to provide the public with the information they need. It's all for profit and discouraging anything that would make you go to any other source for help.

Close the border. Cancel all flights to and from.
Another couple of days and we should know if closing borders and curbing travel is appropriate, hopefully we're not too late. I'm hoping that our authorities certainly have their plans dusted off and ready to go. If they announce border/travel shutdowns, it will no doubt cause a panic, and they are hoping to avoid that, and as bureaucrats they don't want any blowback on them if they take this step and it's a false alarm.
I don't get warm fuzzies from advice to "not shake hands or kiss people upon greeting." That's the kind of nothing advice I used to get from my old HMO (Kaiser) whose first step was always to give you granny's home remedy, since it cost them nothing and got you out the door.

It might be too late already. It was first noticed back in March in Mexico..but remember Mexico is a big Spring Break destination. Bad enough the drug wars put a crimp on vacationers so wouldn't want a threat of swine flu adding to that (China did that with melamine milk and the olympics).
Now with so many sick and in the hospital the WHO is going to "watch" this. Wouldn't it be more prudent to restrict travel until they have a better handle on this rather than let travelers come and go ? All it takes is one sick person (7 day incubation period) on a plane and everyone could catch it.
Just seems the authorities and Mexican government are taking a very laid back "let's wait and see" attitude with a potentially deadly virus that has no vaccine.
The single greatest threat to the overall health of the world is human population. Something will eventually be done to control it. Is this it? Could be. Seems to kill about 15% infected at this moment. My guess is that percentage will increase. Eventually something is going to come down the pipe that cuts world population by some 50% or more.
2012 baby and the ancient Mayans said........we would enter a new era, or awakening. I believe that with the current world wide recession heading quickly to a depression, accompanied by a deadly world wide pandemic? Firestorm baby. We could be heading right into it.
Third teenager diagnosed with swine flu in Texas - high school closed down, family quarantined indefinitely.

I wouldn't say the end. But, are you and your family prepared in case the CDC warrants quarantine ? Can you stay home for 1-3 weeks with what you have in the pantry ?
The WHO and CDC are worried and are having emergency meetings over the weekend. This is news you need to follow. Our government has been telling Americans to be prepared in case of a pandemic as we are long overdue for one.
Dismiss this if you want. I for one will follow the news on this.
