The position of Israel in the Middle East is unique. They are not just simply another nation among many. They had been the one successful continuous democracy in that region, save Turkey, and quite obviously surrounded by nations explicitly threatening to annihilate them. Israel had to develop a deterrent that would keep a nation of 5 million people alive among 100 million enemies.

On the one hand, you have point that Israel should be held to the same standard as the rest of the world. But on the other hand, Israel is surrounded by enemies who are bent on Israel's destruction which is not the case for most of the rest of the world.

The Palestinians terrorists are lawless murderers of Israeli citizens including children since the establishment of Israel in 1948. So Israel has been forced to defend itself against them.

I think your point about Israel is completely invalid. Israel is not a bully. It is only protecting itself from a group of people that are bent on its destruction.

What good is a deterrent if it is a secret? It is time to let the Likkud Party know that they have used up all their favors and can now run on their own. I am tired of the Likkud Party being the tail that wags the US dog.

Imagine if this started a precedent, and secret agreements involving the U.S. and who knows how many other nations started becoming general knowledge? Great cooga mooga! How is the government expected to function if it can't keep secrets?!
