Is there ANY liberal who could stand up to Ann Coulter? (represent, liberals)

I went to the Coulter/Maher debate here in Boston last month. Bill Maher really couldn't debate her intelligently on the issues so he went into comedian mode.
He was no longer the smug bastard you see on his show. He acts the way he does because he hardly ever invites dissenting opinions onto his panels. The few times he does, he has two other libs there to help out.
Strangely enough they are friends and they seem to genuinely like each other. But I reiterate, he really could not debate the points intelligently. He did however exhibit a talent for making fun of the things he disagrees with. Such as religion.
I think I know why the left wing fringe out there hates Ann Coulter, Limbaugh, Savage, and O'Rilley. Because there is NO ONE in the liberal democrat party that can stand up to them. Can you libs mention someone who could? And please, dont turn this into a name calling war, I know you liberals hate them, but please, we are talking about intelligence here. thanks
I would go to great effort (money, take off from work, whatever) to see a debate between Coulter and Janine Garafalo.
Amy Goodman would tear Coulter to shreds. I also think Rachel Maddow would kick her butt. But again, who would anyone want to waste their breath on her. She's been marginalized. Smart conservatives don't take her seriously at all. She should just go away. She's a joke
I'll probably get beaten up over this, but I'm getting ready to go away for the holiday, so I'm going to confess that ever since I started reading this thread, I've had an image of Ron White, drink in hand, making one snarky remark after another to Ann Coulter. Yes, I know Ron White probably would agree with Ann on some of her positions, but not all of them. And he knows how to point out the ridiculous when he sees it. In a humorous way.
Maher can stand up to anyone. Saw him last week at UC-Boulder, awesome stuff.
Amazing that anyone who criticizes the GOP or Bush crime family is branded with the term "liberal" as if it's something bad. Many years of GOP flinging that label at any opposition has essentially made the term an epithet of hugely negative connotation, so they try and paint any opposition with that term.
In today's GOP, even John McCain or Arlen Specter are referred to, sneeringly, as "liberals" or not "true" republicans. Hell, John McCain was a true fiscally conservative republican when in 2001 he correctly called Bush's ruinous tax cuts for the wealthy as a bad deal; John was right, but the GOP's butt ugly "base" have skewered McCain ever since, often calling him "too liberal" for the GOP.
So now we have this silly thread with some naive person thinking that no "liberal" could stand up to a rabid dog like Coulter. Where I come from, the authorities haul off rabid dogs and put them down. It's not a matter of standing up to hateful bullies, but to shoot down their insipid lies with the truth, and that is exactly what Olbermann, Maddow, Maher, Kos, et al, do every day, and it only takes them mere moments.
Problem is, the lies of Coulter, et al, are halfway around the sneering GOP blogosphere before the truth gets out the gate, but the truth does prevail, as in the 2008 electoral college results: Obama 365 / McCain 173. Contest over. Truth won.
Just ****ing beautiful.
What a ****ing beautiful post.
Mike, I could not say it ANY BETTER than you.
Obama 365/McCain 173. Contest over. Boom! Dun dun dun!!!!!!

Bill Maher went into comedian mode because, like most intelligent people, Bill finds Ann Coulter to be completely absurd.
It is actually sadly hysterical that a woman educated at Cornell University who is supposedly as intelligent and "worldly" as Ann Coulter describes herself could be so shockingly, ridiculously narrow-minded and unevolved.
Bill Maher debating Ann Coulter would be like Einstein debating a salami sandwich.
We would all just have to sit back and laugh at the absurdity of it all.
