Note Mr. Ignatius' statement that General Petraeus is being "asked" to carry his successes in Iraq over to Afghanistan, by a Democrat, no less. "Asked?" Vas is das? When one is a CinC, one doesn't ask for anything from subordinates, one orders.

I guess the realities of life are beginning to show full-force upon Mr. Obama, and perhaps, just perhaps, maybe he is seeing that there's more to fighting to win than just using a lil diplomacy here and there.
