Default It's A Good Time To Work For Uncle Sam!

There's little belt-tightening in evidence in Washington, D.C.: Counting benefits, the average pay per federal worker will leap from $72,800 in 2008 to $75,419 next year.

If the cost of health insurance, FDIC etc. goes up, so does the amount of "pay" by the study.....

(2006 to 2010, the number of Homeland Security employees has grew by 22 percent)

pointless

The average federal employee does not make over $70k.
What makes up that number? Does it count overseas employees? Does it count the overhead on their buildings and the cost of electric, etc. in the workplace?
There is a sliding pay scale based on series and years, unless you're under NSPS.

Please do some research on what you're complaining about.
Get back to us, okay.

The figure includes a pretty good pension plan and good medical insurance that is carried into retirement. The figure is believable.

There's a lot of do-nothings in high income positions that bring the average income way up.

When I worked for the govt. (as a contract worker) I was told the govt. figures it costs 1/3 of each employee's wages for their benefits.
