Tax yoga? How?

Let's tax the churchs first.

I'm big on taxing the churches.
As soon as any one of them talks politics in any form, all churches of that denomination lose their tax status.

That could be fun to watch.

Also keeping in mind that grocery receipts are thermal now, and those do not survive well.

What about a combined tax on empty calories - soda, chips, candy, and the like, and a negative sales tax on fresh or frozen fruits & veggies? Not too sure about canned; many canned fruits have lots of sugar in them, making them more candylike than is healthy.

It's an interesting theory to ponder, though.

Most large grocery stores have a system that recognize items eligible for health savings plan reimbursement and have a total at the bottom for you. They could use the same system to identify tax deductable foods.

But, doing it at the register would work as well.

I can agree with this. They want to be tax free then stay out of politics.

Yeah, I'm just thinking how much easier it would be for the taxpayer, if it's across the board and not scaled, to be done at the register rather than saving those impermanent receipts. Also, any tax levied on junk foods & drinks would have to be levied at the register; who's going to save those receipts to pay an extra tax?

Why does government, particularly those on the far left, believe so much in the concept of Social Engineering?

Anyone?

We have to pay for all the money the government gave to the banks. Since Obama promised no new income taxes then everything else has to be taxed to make up for it.

I think I would rather have income taxes raised as I could plan for that rather then everything and anything I buy on a regular basis taxed.

How about we tax Obama for every word he reads from a teleprompter. We'd be rich then
