No the rate of return on SS is around 5%. It's not meant to be a retirement account....only a safety net for those who didn't plan for retirement.

Are you one of these know-nothings that come around about once a Month on City Data and spout all these dire predictions about SS and truth be told you don't have ANYTHING to back up your right wing programming???

I'm all for it. Have them get by without private industry, the right to make a profit, the right to chose the products they buy, the right to chose whether or not they receive medical care, their first amendment freedoms, or the right to chose their careers or place of employment.

In reality thats exactly where the SS money goes. The government brings in more SS money than it spends, and it lends the money to the government general spending account, to spend, on things like roads, bridges etc..

Its one big $55,000,000,000,000 IOU..
