In the Adults 25-54 demographic, all four shows were down compared to the same week last year, with "Meet the Press" averaging 1 million viewers (-35%), "This Week" averaging 800,000 viewers (-16%), "Face the Nation" averaging 760,000 viewers (-6%), and "Fox News Sunday" averaging 454,000 viewers (-4%).
Breaks down as follows... MSM = 2,560,000
Faux News = 454,000
There are a couple of problems with these shows, none of them are likely to improve;
Their demographic is mostly in the "60 to dead" group, the same as newspapers and talk radio. Long term the trend is down, down, down.
Even the SCLM (so-called liberal media) ABC, CBS and NBC tilt heavily toward the right. When Bush was in power they mostly had his apologists on, when it was Clinton, and now Obama they mostly have his detractors.
"MTP" was the best, but it wasn't the time slot or name brand recognition, it was Tim Russert. When he died last year the tributes to him, even on this site came from both sides.
