WASHINGTON, May 14 (Reuters) - The CIA on Thursday rejected a request by former Vice President Dick Cheney that it make public documents that he said showed the effectiveness of using harsh interrogation methods on terrorism suspects.
In any event, as the GOP rightly grills Pelosi on her position and knowledge, they are unwittingly drawing Obama into this debate and where he may be forced to choose between supporting the CIA or Pelosi. I suspect he will choose the former and cut Pelosi loose. Additionally, all this dust up will end up doing is focusing more attention on a subject that will likely cause more harm than good to the GOP as they are cutting off their nose to spite their face out of their hatred for Pelosi. Fine, so be it, but if all the Bush torture memos are released, it will likely take down a few Democrats no doubt, but it will also take down the GOP brand name with it.
If conservatives were being honest about their criticisms, they’d be taking up Pelosi’s desire for a full investigation, an inquiry that would not only examine what members of Congress knew also what the role Cheney played in authorizing illegal acts.

It's just their typical diversionary tactics combined with the fact that all of their attempts to slander Obama haven't gotten any traction so they've switched targets. The thing they don't understand, and seem incapable of understanding, is that Democrats believe that if Pelosi or someone else took part in a war crime like torture then they need to go too. We won't protect war criminals the way Republicans do. If she knew torture was occurring but did nothing then she has to go too.
The funny thing about this non-issue ("torture") is that al Qaeda, et. al. are planning their next moves while we fight over this stupidity. When the next attack comes, the lefties will probably be complaining about Bush's choice of TP in the White House.
Lefties (and all other America Haters) need to pull their heads from their collective arses and get some common sense.
