Hannity made some good points, as usual, so I don't see how Ventura "slapped" down Hannity.

O'Reilly and Ventura probably agree with each other more than Hannity and Ventura so you would most likely be disappointed in a debate between the two of them. Much of the Hannity/Ventura debate was in regards to Pres. Bush and O'Reilly has criticized Bush many, many times. In fact, so has Hannity! Not as often as O'Reilly, but he has.

It may not have been very sudden. He's been out in the spotlight, just at small events around Minnesota and doing PSAs for various causes.

He was also hospitalized for awhile with blood clots in his lungs. That would be enough to slow anyone down for awhile.
