What has happened to America? Where did simple common sense go? The media, all media and political beings are bound to stay in either the right or left ditch rather than crossing the road occasionally even when there is good or compelling reason to do so.

It's extreme to the max rather than ever just plain vanilla. Ya know occasionally, I just love a vanilla ice cream cone although most times, if available I'll take chocolate or something like one would find at 31 flavors.

America, let's take a break from right or left extremism.

We already did.

President Obama is squarely in the middle of the road.

It's a mater of perspective. If you are hanging off the right hand side, the middle looks like the far left from your position.

They made a law against it.

Seriously though, did you ever see a warning label and think, "That's just plain common sense!" But the label has to be there, because of the law.

Many people have been conditioned by the disinformation media simply to take sides and respond to propaganda before common sense. Among those who are more BS-resistant, there actually is back and forth looking for ideas from anywhere that might work. Behind the scenes, this happens even among those who work in what would be called an overtly partisan environment. It can be done and is, but by far too small a number of people...

From Dictionary.com:

so⋅cial⋅ism
  /ˈsoʊʃəˌlɪzəm/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [soh-shuh-liz-uhm]
1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole. (ie. banks, auto companies, health care, etc.)
2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.
3. (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles. - Hm......what's the future hold if the current admin gets its way?

I know that the lefties out there get so offended by the word socialism, but how can you look at the definition of socialism, look at what the government is doing, and deny that it is, in-fact, socialistic behavior?

Stop getting riled up about politics and look at the definition. Yes, Bush started this crap with the first bailout, but he's no more conservative than Obama. The GOP is just as much at fault for this crap. But Obama took the ball and ran with it, making it 100 times worse with the ridiculous spending.

You cannot objectively deny that this is socialism coming to pass.

Common sense was displaced in proportion to the numbers of graduates passing the bar exam.

As I've said before, the pro-peace liberals will leave Obama in droves and ignore the peer pressure and tirades of "where else are you gonna go?". It happened just 17 years ago, and it WILL happen again. It is inevitable.

The naive Obamatrons have the same arrogance that an abusive spouse has thinking wifey won't leave him because she'll be lost without his support.

All governments are by their nature socialist to a degree. When the government issues currency-socialism. Public education-socialism. National park system-socialism. Anti-trust laws-socialism. Regulation of interstate commerce-socialism. Analog to digital-socialism. Postal service-socialism. Anytime the government acts to take away anything from private control in order to advance the public good-socialism.

The efforts to legislate morality, the effort to label dissent as "unpatriotic" are really aspects of socialism, too. Because they subscribe to the idea that increasing government control/authority is a problem-solving method.
