This is the dumbest argument EVAR against gay marriage.
The law is discriminatory, against adults. It says that adults can't marry someone of the same sex. All adults don't have the right to marry whomever they want. The codicil of "so long as it's..." is the piece that's discriminatory. That's like saying you can any flavor of ice cream you want, except chocolate. That's bs. If you can't have chocolate, then you really can't have any flavor you want.
civil rights issues are eventually addressed in the courts.. that's how they've always been handled...
it's not a matter of asking the likes of YOU if I can marry my partner.. because frankly you shouldn't care because it doesn't effect you.. and I DON"T CARE WHAT YOU THINK about my life and my relationship.. [mod edit] who do you think you are?

Reason: enough with the personal attacks
Yeah, actually it is on the way out. Public opinion polls clearly show growing support for both civil unions and same-sex marriage. Also, if you look at the timeline of the bans on same-sex marriage in the U.S., you can see that the percentage of people voting to ban it has been decreasing:
I know I don't have to tell you that in California, 61% voted for a ban in 2000; in 2008, that percentage was down to 52%. Do you really think it's going to go back up? The answer: No way.
Entertainers/Celebrity get exceptions to some level of discrimination, don't you think?
No not in this case, they applied, were qualified and so the story goes.

A crime altogether to be black?
Not even human?
I'll assume you were simply exaggerating for effect.
Job applications did ask your ethnicity (most have since deleted that question) however many other applications still ask for this info however, I've seen none that asks if you're gay or straight Where is the discrimination - mainstream wise?
Yes I was exaggerating on the human element somewhat but I was moreso referring to Dred Scott.
Look Gay or Straight - it's one's choice. Long term partnerships being able to visit in hospital, in the event of terminal illness; having rights to inherit the property; providing for your partner through your health insurance - I have no issues with that, but marriage? That's another issue altogether.

Tell us about the day you decided to be straight...you should remember a serious decision like that? I am a gay male and am curious about how one decides their sexuality. I don't remember deciding mine?????????
