Honestly, I doubt it, the divide is very wide. So, the blue gets the coasts, the red can have a the stuff in the middle...fair enough to me (joking!)

It's just hypothetical and your description about sums it up...maybe people will think more about compromising.....instead of entrenchment.

Divorce on one condition - the blue staters who ran to the red states for a cheaper cost of living and lower taxes, but kept their blue state mentality, have to leave. It still hasn't dawned on many of them that their blue state mentality is why they had to flee those blue states.

Divorce? Who is it that benefits most from this alienation? Our wonderful politicians. They will never want to give up the assured power that they hold. If more people would just stop giving blanket approval to some pos because he/she is 'one of theirs' we as a country just might stand a chance.

If you see the democrats as "preserving" the constitution of the United States and the republicans as desiring to govern the land with religion, your perception is severely skewed on both accounts.
