I dont like Bush and would not doubt him saying that but did he really say that?
It was Bush 1

Quote:

Sherman: What will you do to win the votes of the Americans who are atheists?

Bush: I guess I'm pretty weak in the atheist community. Faith in God is important to me.

Sherman: Surely you recognize the equal citizenship and patriotism of Americans who are atheists?

Bush: No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.

Sherman (somewhat taken aback): Do you support as a sound constitutional principle the separation of state and church?

Bush: Yes, I support the separation of church and state. I'm just not very high on atheists.
George Bush quotes

George H. W. Bush claims Athiests aren't Citizens and can't be Patriots.

Church is not god, man is not god, science is man, and truth is only a dream.
If your looking for truth you will never find it.
If your truth is your faith it will be tested based on other "truths"
Every answer only gives you a question and even with all the knowledge in the universe you will still be alone even in science.
If you just except all that is, you might have a chance at living.
I dont know if there is a God, but the universe, this planet and just the birth and death of all life gives me hope.
Maybe we only need hope and free will and nothing more.
The human mind is flawed, or is it designed to work as designed.

Wow. You don't say.

Sometimes I really do believe the Bush presidents have been curses for the reason why they we have fallen back as we have.

And I remember Bush (the son) saying something about how "Witchcraft should not be a legalized religion-he was talking about Wicca. As for the people who have actually looked into Wicca KNOW it is not all about the Witchcraft.

THESE are the reasons why I am against very religious people (like Bush- the dad who thinks atheists are not patriots/citizens) taking power. If you are very religious and are able to keep it out of your politics, then good.

Yup.

"I don't think witchcraft is a religion. I would hope the military officials would take a second look at the decision they made."

G.W. Bush (R), as Governor of Texas.
Interviewed on ABC's Good Morning America, 1999-JUN-24.
He disapproved of Wiccan soldiers being given the same religious rights as others in the military.
