They change their logo for every holiday under the sun, to include obscure birthdays of artists and communists, but nothing for Memorial Day, with the exception of a small yellow ribbon beneath the search bar.

There have been logo changes for Persian and Chinese New Year, Sputnik anniversary, Jackson Pollack, MLK, Earth Day, Pavarotti, World Water Day Mozart, Halloween, Yuri Gagarin, Mozart, and Braille - WTF? Nothing for Memorial Day...thanks Google.

They have the yellow ribbon. does it need more?

It's Decoration Day (aka Memorial Day). A day of observance and remembrance.

Google simply represents what a majority of American people do today. An (arguably) slim majority of
American people dont do anything to remember the military on Memorial Day, why should Google?

And thats with two wars ongoing. How sad is that?

I agree, a simple yellow ribbon is enough/appropriate. However, when you hold your mouse over any Google logo/symbol, its significance is always revealed. In this case, it is not.

The Yellow Ribbon symbolizes our commitment to honoring America’s Military who are proudly serving around the globe, their families, those who are missing in action, and those who have fallen.

Ohh..is the "war on google" is the new "war on christmas"? Can we find anything more stupid to be upset about? I probably shouldn't even ask because I already know the answer. Unfortunately.

I like the simple yellow ribbon. It is universal.
