Jingoism runs rampant on FOX
Well, if I didnt just get treated to some surreal, Orwellian double speak on FOX. During the running of America's favorite advertising spectacle, NASCAR, the boys in the booth gave forth atribute to the military and her veterans that was a true "war is peace, slavery is freedom" testament to American foreign policy.
In what is now standard practice and used so often, and for over 6 years running, thats its familiar to us all: Hide behind the sacrifices of American servicemen and women and then remind us that their foreign excursions are to "keep the peace" and "keep us safe" (no offense to D.W. or Mike Joy, but you both are who delivered the message in these terms).
Thanks FOX for reminding me that Republicans sending the military into shi_ _y war zones of their own making is what I'm supposed to support. I dont think so. No one on that network dares question the mistakes of the past 8 years, either.
In all their tributes today I have yet to see FOX recognize all those killed and wounded, either. Just like its some kind of ultimate sporting event or something, a reality show across the ocean

If you don't like FOX, don't watch it. Please don't come onto the forums and whine about it...
And believe it or not, I do not watch FOX, it is my choice not too, and you have that choice as well.

that's why they have good ratings. it's cause liberals watch it and pretend to be truth seeking watch dogs. meanwhile, everyone just laughs at them for watching and listening to things they hate. I don't like the jonas brothers, and I will not listen to them. it's that simple. I am not going to contribute to them making money.

Don't get me wrong, I too oppose the war in Iraq, ect, and consider it a severe mistake, but why is that difficult to understand that other people have different opinions? And why seek dark reasons behind the republican policy? There are people who genuinely and honestly believe in military action as a means of defending the US and its interests. Fox news represents the voice of these citizens, in the same way other networks represent our opinion.

I watch EVERYTHING, from the far left to the extreme right. That is my right (pun intended). My opinions were shaped by listening to those I disagree with, no less then hearing those I tend to agree with. I am independent, not a blind follower of any partisan polices, whatever they may be.

I understand this. But the title of this thread is "Jingoism runs rampant on FOX"
And it does.

Yet on Memorial day you find a way to politicize the way someone else is trying to honor those who serve! Give it a rest!

There isn't anything wrong with having a difference of opinion. However, if you lean in one direction consistently, at least be honest about it. Using catch phrases like "fair & balanced news" when Fox News is obviously opposed to anything Democrat, is misleading & deceptive.
For example, there is no doubt in my mind that Chris Matthews loves Obama and he doesn't try to hide it. Rachel Maddow is very liberal and has even said so on the air.
I know people are going to say "but they're not reporters." Well, Bill O'Reilly calls himself a reporter. What's the difference between watching Olbermann or Hannity? (unless you've just had dinner and don't have an iron stomach.)
Speaking of fair & balanced, Fox promoted the Tea Party protests. They were even aggressively encouraging viewers to join them and called them "Anti-Stimulus Demonstrations" and continually spoke out against Obama's policies. They misiformed protesters into thinking the bailouts began under Obama and that he's responsible for the current economic meltdown.
REPORT: "Fair and balanced" Fox News aggressively promotes "tea party" protests | Media Matters for America
They also lie, not just mislead. As News Hounds reports
The (Fox Nation) headline that reads "White House Scoffs At Notre Dame Protest" is sure to get a response from the pitchfork gang. The link, however, is to an article for which the title is "White House reacts to critics of Notre Dame honors." White House press secretary Robert Gibbs was quoted as saying "I think there's one group organizing a boycott and, as best I can understand it, there are 23 groups that have formed in support of the president's invitation." So that’s the "scoffing."
