Speculation is that she is pro-life, no one knows for sure since she has not ruled from the bench on the topic. If true, will people switch sides on abortion or their support?

Oh, good question! Abortion has been the litmus test for potential scotus nominees - no doubt it will be brought up during the confirmation hearings.
If she is prolife I think that there are going to be quite a lot of conflicted partisans who will not know what to do with themselves

Well....we can hope she is pro-life. (Some people on here will attack me for this, I know)

But I doubt it.

This is what republicans are holding out for? Now, ask yourself the question opposite question: What if she is pro-choice?

Doesn't matter if she's pro-life, what matters is if she is anti-choice.

Lovely

I can always use the terms "pro-death" and "anti-life"

Fair question. I think that one can espouse viewpoints that both sides find agreeable. While its doubtful she would vote against ones right to choose, if she were pro life it would have no effect on my support.

She is a remarkable story, a woman, a Hispanic, and a product of public housing in Brooklyn who went to Yale and Princeton.

That people like Rush Limbaugh and Tom Tancredo oppose her tells me that white, racist, right wing males will oppose her, and this, in turn, garners my immediate support. Thank God John McCain/Sarah Palin/Christian conservatives have no say in the choice, they can only makes themselves look foolish in opposing her

Personally, I would be THRILLED if she were pro life.

From Slate Magazine:

And even though Sotomayor has decided only a single abortion case (against the abortion-rights side),
