As for "If she was white and made a statement like that....", clearly there is no reason a white would make a statement like that. We live in a country where whites have at the top forever. It has always been taken for granted that white males make the best decisions simply because they are white males. They dominate, they've been in charge, of course they make the best decisions -- or so it's always been believed. There is no reason for a white male to point out that is decision making ability is as good as that of a person from a minority group (including women).
The 53% of the voting public who decide how the other 47% of us are going to live are in no way a minority by any definition of the word. The minority is white males.

Ok, now try it this way.

They will continue because some people just cannot get over the fact that a Black man is president, and that he is savvy enough to keep trumping republicans. The latest trump, of course, being his great selection of Sotomayor

Sociologically, minority and majority are often defined by power, not numbers. I was clearly using the power definition.

Are you completely missing the "I would hope...." part?

No, liberal that I am, the second statement isn't racist.

Funny I just pointed out that Sotomayor is clearly a racaist based on her own words and now I'm the racist. Who would have seen that coming?

Explain why both of these statements are acceptable.

And a shrinking minority at that.

By mid-century the United States is projected to be 30-40% Hispanic.

Your point is...?

So what's your point? There are more female voters than male voters. Women decide every single election. I guess using your standard they are the majority twice over.
