So what's your point? There are more female voters than male voters. Women decide every single election. I guess using your standard they are the majority twice over.
Are you kidding me? You want me to explain how the power in this country has been held by white males forever and that they, regarless of their numbers, control things because they hold all the power at the top? You don't understand that? You don't see that "point" without me explaining it?
Are you completely missing the "I would hope...." part?
No, liberal that I am, the second statement isn't racist.
Of course the second statement is racist. If that isn't racist then we will have to redifine what racism is.
"Second, I would hope that a wise white male with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latina woman who hasn't lived that life."
The statement compares a "wise" white who "more often than not" reaches a "better conclusion" than a non-descript Latina woman.
Why would that not be a racist statement?
"Second, I would hope that a wise white man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a black woman who hasn't lived that life."
Any way I do this it's racist. It is not possible to make this statement not racist!
How about this one?
"Second, I would hope that a wise heterosexual man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Lesbian who hasn't lived that life."
Two similar quotes by Justice Alito and would-be Justice Sotomayor are being posted all over the Internet to imply that both have racist tendencies and that consevatives are using a double standard since, as they contend, Alito has made similar racist comments without opposition from the right. I've examined both quotes and have found that in context, Sotomayor's statement indicates that she feels that her experience as a Hispanic female makes her better able to judge cases than a white male who has not had her experiences. Alito makes no such claim of superior ability to judge cases than the opposite sex or other ethnic groups based on his life experience or for any other reason.
I've provided links to sites that have both sets of comments in their original context. If you are unwilling to read both of them in their entirety, please don't post on this thread.
That's all you have to say? No interest in debating the statements?
Weak.
I said what I have to say about the statements. You even responded to to my comments. Why would you then ask if this one comment is all I have to say? That makes no sense and is, to use your word, weak.

You have redefined racism. The statements speak to experiences, not race. That is not racism.

Is that all followed by a question mark indicates an expectation of something more substantive.

What? Try writing a coherent sentence.
