Yes ... see below chart:

Notice the strong upward trend since around April 2009?

We are back to levels not seen since around Jan 2008.

Actually, a lot of the layoffs occurred while Bush was STILL in office.

I think the above chart speaks for itself.

How can there be 46 pages about a trip to NYC?

I didn't vote for the guy, but if this is what people are getting so upset about, I guess he can't be doing all that bad of a job. This should be the worst of our country's problems... Especially since it isn't actually even a problem at all.
Truth.

I tried to start a thread earlier on something I found facinating but nobody wanted to play. I even stated that next time I will post something about Michelle Obama's hair (or something equally as trivial) in order to get people talking!

So did mine. You're the one who brought it up. Why are you bringing it up in relation to "clearing brush"?

It's whatever someone wants to call it. Now it seems that Laura Bush (no mention of Geroge) went to NY to see "Wicked". G** save us all!

Who knows, I asked a similar question earlier & never got a response. I suspect the OP either doesn't remember making the post or can't give an explanation for it. c'est la vie, that's how it rolls w/some on this forum.

as I said before, I am not privy to obama's schedeule but I understand he is going to be traveling. can I have a show of hands for the people will be upset over the TONS of money we as a nation will be spending when the POTUS and his entourage goes to honor our scarifice and pays his respects at the D-Day ceremony in France?
Apples and oranges. He will be going on his apology tour in his official capacity as POTUS.

He spent $70,000 on a date night.

Official vacations don't count - they are always working.

I'm sure. 25 hours a day when it came to Bush! Sarcasm intended. Get off of this "Bush was different", "apples to oragnes", "this/that doesn't count" kick. The only difference to you is that Bush is a Republican. Do you think he went down there to Texas and never took in a show? Never went out to dinner?

And Bush spent more than 10 MILLION DOLLARS on his 77 vacation trips to Crawford.
