Are you saying that same-sex attractions are a result of either brain damage or mental illness?
Same-sex attractions are natural and harm no one.

Am I to understand then, that Gayness would be just another branch or lineage of the human species? (like with the neanderthals)
Evolution does place checks and balances into failed species, with the intent for that particular species to become extinct. Would this be the case with gays? Could there be something so abnormal here that we're finding evolution at work with it's system of checks and balances, er ... um ... genetic causalities, by which gays have no desire to propogate through regular physical contact with the opposite sex?
I've heard the animal/insect arguments before. So much so that one might be led to believe that gays might just be a gene short of actually being normal ... possibly?... if in fact it was proven to be genetic?.
Heck, even apes are just a few genes short of being human, and I suppose that if apes could talk, they too would be going on and on about all of their little ape issues as well.
On the other hand, I'm not one that would be buying into the genetic argument anyway, and for good reason. If this was all about being short of a gene or two, then gays might one day end up with about as much rights as even the apes.

No the point is that there is a function homosexuality plays in evolutionary processes. A gay gene has already been identified as detailed in the link i provided for you. The fact that you want to relegate gays to apes has nothing to do with this argument. Humans are great apes btw.

If you were trying to be offensive, congratulations. You've succeeded.

It gets to the point it doesn't matter how valid an argument you make, what source you quote, who the experts are or what they have found - it all comes down to certain people just wanting to maintain ignorance.

Agreed. Look how many people believe that intelligent design is a legitimate scientific theory. People will believe what they want to believe.

Sadly, you are correct. However, we should continue our efforts, because if we reach just one other person that may actually be on the fence, our efforts are more than justified.

No one should ever be thin skinned or offended over a great argument or debate.
There are those of us in this world that may tend to bring up all or any angles when it comes to debate.
I don't believe that genetics plays any kind of role here, and with that, I'll add that there was a day, in our not so distant past, that science taught that the world was flat.
I'm always the forever skeptic when it comes to things like science.

So let me get this straight, you will relegate valid scientific discoveries as invalid because of faulty scientific theories hundreds of years ago? How do you know the earth is spherical then?

Well, you're saying that some of us are comparable to apes. I don't know too many people who wouldn't be offended by that.
I am curious: Why do you participate in so many of the gay-related discussions? Trust me, I'm not at all saying (as some would) that you have latent homosexual interests, but the subject obviously interests you on some level. You must find it amusing, or repelling, or intellectually curious - or something like that.
