What intentions did our forefathers have?
The early Democrats would be rolling over in their graves about what their party has become ........
Quote:
Democratic-Republican Party, ........ the forerunner of today's Democratic Party. The philosophy of the Democratic-Republican Party favored states' rights, rather than a strong national government Democratic-Republican Party - MSN Encarta
In the 1830s, the Democratic Party developed the characteristics it retained until the end of the century. It was willing to use national power in foreign affairs when American interests were threatened, but in economic and social policy it stressed the responsibility of government to act cautiously, if at all. Democrats argued that the national government should do nothing the states could do for themselves, and the states nothing that localities could do.[/SIZE] Democratic Party - MSN Encarta

Please, try to forget (at least for a while) disagreements in internal policy and give him more support! He is a good person! Don't let recklessness gain the upper hand over wisdom!
Sorry, I cannot in good faith support a monumental idiot.

Great idea, but it is not going to happen. The people you are appealing to refer to him as the messiah, and that is about the best term they use, goes down hill from there. They lost the election and are now proving that the majority of them are sore losers. Get used to the whining, that is what we are going to get for the next 4 - 8 years. It will not matter what President Obama does, he could cure all the worlds ills and they would whine that he took too long to do it and did it the wrong way. Have you noticed that there are few that continually whine about President Obama that have any ideas of their own, heck their Party has no ideas, we saw how many of the issues they resolved while in total control and we can also see how few ideas they have here on this board. Sad thing is that they cannot see that if they do not get over their political loss and get busy revamping their Party they will continue to lose seats in both Houses and not have a snowballs chance in hell of winning the Whitehouse back in the near future. Some of us out here hope that the true Republicans, there are a few left, will do what is needed and regain some political ground, mainly because we want balance in our government. Right now it is not looking good that anything is going to change any time soon.
