Pat Buchanan, "I supported a racist for Supreme Court Justice" (Rush Limbaugh, enemies)

So is he now saying that he'll support Sotomayor for her SC appointment?

Today when asked how Sotomayor compared with Harold Carswell, Nixon appointee (rejected) Buchanan said he thinks they're "in the same league and that he supported Carswell.

Of course in the past he wrote that the Dems in the Senate "smeared Carswell and Haynsworth (another Nixon try that got rejected) as racists. Wow, imagine anyone getting the idea that Carswell was a racist, how could that happen?

Maybe from a speech he gave to The American Legion in which he said; "I believe that the segregation of the races is proper...and the only proper and correct way of life in our states. I yield to no man in the firm, vigorous defense of white supremacy and I shall always be so governed."

I'm sure that many on here will say that Carswell got "borked" before Bork for this innocent statement.

I guess this means that if Pat Buchanan could support Carswell then (for that very ambiguous/taken out of context statement) that he'll be all for Sotomayor now.

Can you send me a link to every time you've knocked a righty for saying "Obama is apologizing to our enemies", or "Obama says he wants to destroy capitalism"? And of course any time FoxNews or Rush Limbaugh "creatively edits" a tape of Obama or any of his staff to completely alter the meaning of their comments, you are right on the spot correcting the record, right?

How about some comments on what he did say, which is in my OP; "they (Sotomayor and Carswell) are in the same league". And he did support Carswell.

At least you didn't come back with a "TOTUS" remark, so you're ahead of many posters on here.
