he is a great believer in hypocrisy, just like warren buffett. if he is so busy giving it away, why is he still the world's richest man and warren #2. i guess they are not giving it away as fast as they really want to......

his company, microsoft, is also #1 for giving away H1b visas to bring foreign workers into the united states.
Are you kidding me?

You can complain about Larry Ellison and Michael Dell, but Buffett and Gates have pledged $60,000,000,000 to charity...how about you?

Buffett lives in the same house he bought in the 1960s and Gates can't be blamed for having a nice home, he's been one of the 3 richest people in the world for more than a decade. The man does a lot for the world in comparison to many other billionaires who hoard their money and then give it to their spoiled brat kids. A lot of the Forbes 400 is based in Inheritance.

Or we can hope all billionaires are like the MORON Donald Trump who has gone bankrupt three different times because of his greed and stupidity.

Well to be fair, Trump did give the world the gifts of "The Apprentace" and "Miss USA".

Voluntarily giving away one's wealth for the betterment of others is not socialism. It's enlightenment.

Just ask yourself, where would Pittsburgh be without a couple guys called Carnegie and Mellon? Or New York's Rockefeller or Detroit's Fisher and Ford?

I think Gates is just taking it to another level, beyond faux-temples to himself into genuine programs that improve individual lives.

God bless the guy. We should all be so voluntarily generous and we would end poverty and division in a heartbeat. Odd how greed has become so valued.

Note the speech was given in Oslo. Had Gates gone to Tel Aviv or New York and told the billionaires there "to give away all their money to Africa", Gates would have been laughed out of the ballroom many times over!!! They'd never do that.

personally, my feeling is that Gates got rich in America mostly via Americans and American companies buying his products (Word, Excel, etc.) many times over and making them world standards. Gates should repay Americans for all he has been blessed with. There are plenty of good charities right here in America. Instead his American wealth (and that of Warren Buffet) will be flushed down the toilet to never return to America or the Americans -- who supported Gates and made him what he is!

And in the 90's while he collected billions hand over fist over 100 million people died from starvation and wars... He's as capitalistic as it gets. There is one difference though that both he and Warren Buffet agree on, the government getting their wealth would be a huge waste. If they thought it wouldn't be they'd let the government have it all...

So does this mean all capitalist aren't the pigs the current leadership has tried to make them out to be?

Larry Ellison and Michael Dell (both Jewish) are the exact types of billionaires who would never give their money away to Africa.

You are making up lies. The current leadership has never painted business leaders as "pigs". In fact, it's done everything in its power to save their businesses so they could keep being business leaders.

I think there's a lot of propaganda out there that doesn't align with reality. Even the CEOs of these companies invited and accept interference for this difficult (and temporary) period.
