Read the link instead of just the two statements. It goes into a lot of depth and covers both interpretations.

Nonagression wins out as the explanation, however, which didn't really surprise me a lot. Christ was a pacifist.

Hope I didn't spoil the plot for you.

I think this church's "gun day" has a darker meaning when you look at the history of that denomination, namely Southern Baptist. That church was founded as pro slavery at a time when many Christians in America were becoming ardent abolitionists - the SB preached that slavery was moral and OK according to the Bible. Remember they are a Calvinist denomination believing that God preselects some people to be heaven bound, others hell bound regardless of your actions. In the 1850s all "Negros" were considered to be 'marked' for hell so it was moral to enslave them since they needed the 'discipline' from White Christianity

During the post civil war era many White Baptists were part of the KKK's techniques to terrorize the Black community. The NRA was founded the same year as the KKK by many of the same people. The pro gun movement in the South has always been based on Afro-phobia - phrase like "protecting your right to bare arms" are understood as meaning "protect your wife and daughter from Negro savages" by most NRA members

Are you making this up? Learn your history. It's as easy as www.wikipedia.com.

The NRA was founded by UNION veterans of the Civil War. Unless you slept through your elementary school history classes, you should know that the Union Army fought against the Confederacy. The KKK was founded by Confederate veterans. FAIL.

This church should be embarrassed. I'm pro-2nd. But the church is no place for guns.

Unless I get both my arms amputated I have no control over where these guns go.
