the only thing that will save GM is to make cars that people want to and can afford to buy.
That will not happen with dems/libs in charge.

This is their chance to make those vehicles that are environmentally friendly, but that no one wants.

I think GM and the Government is a marriage made in heaven ...

They both presume to know what we want, give us a lousy product, and then can't figure out why things go all to hell in a handbasket..

Can we all say ... Dumb and Dumber?

They can just close off trade or make super high tariffs so we're compelled to buy GM's products.

The Japanese government is heavily involved with Toyota and Honda. Just thought I'd mention that.

Have you driven a Chevy lately? Light and tinny, like the Yugo's of yesteryear.

GM needs to go away ..

Nope, the wife gets a new Honda this year ... no worries ... they make them right here in the good ole U.S. of A. ..

The Japs and the Germans are the only ones that truly know how to build a car anyway these days ... so why don't we just let the American car companies just fade away quietly .. you know ... like we did with every other major industry in this country.

A really good read, that summarizes the hypocritical rhetoric of obama and the probability that Government Motors will ultimately fail.

I will do my part in seeing that come to fruition.

I haven't laughed like that in a long time. This is a side-splitter,

"When a difficult decision has to be made on matters like where to open a new plant or what type of new car to make, the new GM, not the United States government, will make that decision."

The government will simply decide the fuel economy standards, safety standards and emission standards the vehicles must have. The UAW, DOE, OSHA, EPA and IRS will determine the cost to manufacture the vehicle in the US all but assuring the new line's failure and/or outsourcing. Other than that, the government will stay out of GM's business.

Actually I think the Volt looks really cool and smashes the Prius! I'd seriously think of getting one - my Honda lease runs up in 2011 and My first replacement choice is the Volt... Thats if i have a job lol..

And most of the profit goes back to Tokyo.
