Obama invokes Jesus more than Bush!
I just found this interesting article about Obama's faith.
Barack Obama invokes Jesus more than George W. Bush - Eamon Javers - POLITICO.com
Of the two political sides, the left is usually the more secular one, so I wonder how people on the left feel about having a religious person in the white house. How does this differ, in your view, from Bush's religious faith? I have my own thoughts on the whole thing, but I want to hear you guys.
Hope to have a good discussion.

He's invoking the name of Christ to try and sell his political agenda to Christians. Its very clear what his motive is, and it is not an honorable motive.

I believe President Bush and I would have the same issue with his statement.
"In his speech Thursday in Cairo, Obama told the crowd that he is a Christian and mentioned the Islamic story of Isra, in which Moses, Jesus and Mohammed joined in prayer"
This is what the Bible has to say about that.
"Do not become partners with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness? And what agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever? And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said, “I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you,"

Well the actual quote from the King James Bible is,
"Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[a] are the temple of the living God."
Since Muslims are not "unblievers" and accord with Christ and not Belial I'm not sure what your point is.

Does not one iota of difference to me, with either Party. The only time it goes too far is when they pander to people based on religon just to garner more votes.

The obvious difference between Bush's religion and Obama's is that Bush wanted to legislate and impose specific religious "values," or beliefs. Obama has no history of doing this. In fact, he has lifted some of Bush's policies that were based on Religion - like the ban on funding for stem cell research. When Obama speaks of Faith, he speaks of inclusion. He even includes "people of no Faith." When Bush spoke of Faith, he talked about legislating his personal religious beliefs onto all of us.
